IEC 60204-1:2021: Safety of Machinery - Part 1: General Requirements

  • Power isolation and short-circuit/overcurrent protection must be provided.
  • The metal cabinet and PLC power supply must be properly grounded, with conductor sizing compliant with the standard.
  • Control circuits are recommended to use 24V DC and must be isolated from power circuits.
  • Separation of power and control wiring, with shielded grounding and EMC filtering.
  • All terminals, conductors, and modules must be clearly labeled and accompanied by electrical documentation.
  • Before delivery, the system must pass grounding, insulation, and functional testing.
